Activities For Schools
The journey writing the Sammy Rambles, Molly Manila and Bumper and Friends books has been full of ups and downs. It has been an adventure starting with a pen and a piece of paper, through to publishing and promoting the books around the world.
Getting the books published was just the beginning…
I needed to work on severe shyness and self-doubt, so I started small, visiting a local school with a small group of children, sharing my experiences and hoping to help inspire children in their writing.
Fast forward to today and I’ve met thousands of children in hundreds of schools talking about Sammy Rambles, Molly Manila and Bumper and Friends. There are now professionally written schemes of work for teachers based on the books with engaging activities for children of all ages and abilities.
You can also play Dragonball, the game Sammy Rambles and his friends play in the books which is now a real-world game played by children in PE lessons, lunchtime and after school clubs, tournaments and activity days. There are professional guides to playing Dragonball and schemes of work for teachers and coaches too.
There are also activities for younger children based on your favourite characters in Bumper and Friends, plus an animated cartoon and opportunities for children (and adults) to get involved learning more about our world, the environment and the creatures we love.

“Thank you so much for coming over, sharing your work and inspiring our children. I know the visit was a huge success from our point of view and both children and staff, from both the British and Canadian Schools, loved the experience.” Mr Jens Niedzwiedzki, Acting Headteacher, The British Section, SHAPE International School.
“I just need to let you know that our children are currently playing ‘Dragonball’ in their PE lesson! They are having so much fun using space hoppers as their dragons. What an inspiration you have been.” – Ruby & Sapphire Classes. All Saints Primary School, Bishops Caundle, Dorset.
“Jenny came to visit our vibrant Year 4 class of 37 pupils and had them truly engaged with her stories. It was thoroughly enjoyable to have Jenny share her writing tips and enthral our students with extracts from the books. The children relished the chance to write their own dragon stories, based on the adventures portrayed in Sammy Rambles and now they can’t stop talking about dragons! Thank you Jenny, please come again.” Rowan Class. Elmhurst Junior School, Street, Somerset.
